Our Addictions - A complex improvisation-based program on the topic of addiction

494 494 people viewed this event.

The fear of exclusion plays a decisive role in the operation of today's taboos. Addictions within the peer group and family (drug, alcohol, internet, game addiction, internet addiction, work addiction) are often not dared to speak openly, or we do not have the tools and space to face them. At the same time, the members of the Alpha generation are very affected by these topics that are difficult to process with traditional pedagogical tools. Our method interdisciplinary: we worked together with social specialists and rehabilitation participants in the development of the complex program. Interactive, fictional through stories, safe creating space, we arrive at to real life experiences – without taboos. Actors react to what happens during interactions. Improvisational theater is a fresh, innovative alternative to traditional prevention and sensitization programs. Life situations that arise on stage support specialist comments. Addiction consultant and former addict János Hamar/Gábor Krisztu also authentically interprets the possibilities of crisis management. We perform our performances for students in public spaces and in school settings. The project brings together the sociology of youth, family, deviance, psychology, drama pedagogy and improvisational theater.
