Welcome to Improv Therapy & Tabloid – A Hilarious Journey Into the Absurd!
Get ready for an evening of fully improvised comedy as we bring you two unique show formats that will have you laughing out loud!
IMPROV THERAPY – “Octophobia” – imagine a group of patients all being afraid of number 8 getting to a therapy session with a therapist who has the same problem… Let’s get some insight of how those fears have come to life! Was it a misfortunate party of pool billiard? A bad experience at a swimming competition? Losing a high stake poker party because of a card? In this improvised show the audience votes for the strangest phobia – and they get to see a therapy session where all related stories unfold!
BULVÁR – “Was he really raised by a family of wolves?” Do you think that that would clarify as a clickbait headline? In this show we get an actual local tabloid (or its online version) and we get the audience to choose the cheesiest, lamest, worst clickbait headline of the day. The improvisers will only get the title – and then a series of scenes would be played to build up a story for that. I am pretty sure that he WAS raised by a family of wolves!! Come and see the true story!
These show formats are the result of an international cooperation between ISAC – International Society for Arts and Culture and Funnylicious Theater (SK), České národní improvizační divadlo (CZ), Teatr Wschodni / Eastern Theatre (PL), ITI – Macedonian Center of International Theatre Institute (MK) and Itt és Most Társulat (HU), under the project V4 Improv Connect.
ABOUT V4 Improv Connect:
Supported by the Visegrad Fund, V4 Improv Connect is an initiative by the International Society for Arts and Culture, o.z. (ISAC) which is the parent organization of Funnylicious Theater. The project aims to transform the landscape of improvisational theater. With a focused mission to unite theaters from the Visegrád countries – Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia, and North Macedonia – and beyond, this project seeks to elevate improvised theater from casual comedy to a recognized art form. Improv’s real-time narrative crafting demonstrates human resilience and creativity, highlighting its significance and versatility.
The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
