The Company

The members of Itt és Most came to improvisation and to each other from several directions. Our company has a graduate actor, drama teacher, special education teacher, adult education specialist, and luckily there is someone who knows how to manage projects and the world of numbers. This diversity has made us who we are, our differences have helped us create projects, lectures, and trainings that are unique to Here and Now.

The unique abilities, areas of research and interest, and even hobbies of the company members greatly influenced how our improvisation performances were created. Several of our members had previously experienced the world of multimedia and the peculiarities of the open office environment, so when we planned our corporate team building presentations and trainings, we were able to build on their experiences. Of course, the experience brought from the field of adult training and the professional background as a trainer were definitely necessary for these forms. In presentations tailored to other age groups, the pedagogical vein came in handy - during the development of MesélŐk, we shared knowledge of developmental psychology and fairy tale pedagogy, and it didn't hurt that we also had a professional storyteller among us. At Memento, we delved into the world of films and examined different story building narratives, as well as developed our movement culture - by the way, did you know that we also have a member of the company with a Thai-Chis past?

The roots of improvisation

One word is like a hundred: we enjoy the fact that we can share our various elements of knowledge with each other, but at the same time we owe the common foundations not only to ourselves. We are grateful to all contemporary domestic and international trainers and improvisors who shared their knowledge of improvisation with us and created space for us to experience and develop. In addition, we respect the pioneers of the 20th century, the great improvisational masters whose work founded the entire genre - and our methodology as well.

Viola Spolin (1906-1994), actor, director, teacher, author, wrote her highly influential work in the 1960s, the Theater Improvisationt, for which he gained his experience not only with actors, but also developed his methods by working with disadvantaged children and adults. The creator of the complex training system of Theater Games deeply believed that everyone can play and improvise. Keith Johstone (1933-2023) is the creator of Theater Sports and the Improv System, founder of two legendary improv companies. With his workshops and trainings, he raised generations of improvisers worldwide, directly and indirectly defining everything that we approach improvisation today. Its work is unavoidable for those who start working with impro, sooner or later they want to buy it Improv - Improvisation and Theatre and Impov for storytellers c. his books.
